An inspirational and calming thought....
Where can I go from Your spirit? And where can I flee from Your Presence? If I ascend to heaven You are there; if I make my bed in the lowest depths, behold, You are there. Were I to take up the wings of dawn, were I to dwell in the distant west - there, too, Your hand would guide me, and Your right hand would grasp me.

(Tehillim 139, 8-10)

The danger is when the gap is too big or when we are unaware of the differences between our identity and our image. Then we tend to identify with our image rather than with our authentic selves.

What strength does an infant gain at eight days? The Zohar (3:91) explains that the reason for the eighth day timing of a Brit is to ensure that the baby has experienced a Shabbat before his Brit Milah. The Zohar says that as a consequence of Shabbat "he is touched by the soul of vitality that is infused into the world on Shabbat."
